Having our little friends in lower middle
school memorise a few appropriate ancient 
poems, on the grand scale of things, is 
in order to pass on the splendid 
traditional culture of the motherland and 
to portray the nation's inner feelings.  
On a smaller scale, it increases 
knowledge, broadens horizons, enriches 
language, moulds moral integrity, 
improves beauty-appreciation skills and 
promotes healthy development for both 
heart and mind.

It is exactly for these sorts of reasons 
that the National Education Bureau's 
newest guidelines put forward 
requirements for the memorising and 
reciting of ancient poetry, laying out 
specific targets.  This is without doubt 
a pioneering work of profound 
significance.

In order to deepen our little friends in 
lower middle school's understanding of 
the poems they must memorise we focused 
our efforts, and in accordance with 
classroom requirements brought out this 
"Lower Middle School Students Required 
Poems for Memorisation" book for the 
massed ranks of our little friends in 
lower middle school.
