李白
访戴天山道士不遇
犬吠水声中
桃花带雨浓
树深时见鹿
溪午不闻钟
野竹分青霭
飞泉挂碧峰
无人知所去
愁倚两三松

Apparently Li Bo wrote this when he
was around 18. I cant accept that
there are some people who are that
gifted. there must be an excuse.
Recycling poetic cliches? yeah..that's
what he did.
.....
- i fully realise im too reverent
towards these poems. why should these
words take on extra signifcance just
because they're written in Chinese?
- Hm, the Chinese character conjours up
ideas and is magic.
- Bullshit, its just a language.
Anyone can see this is just
Orientalist fetishism!
- I like dragons and peach blossom
imagery so sue me.

Said makes the claim that the whole of
Western European and American
scholarship, literature, and cultural
representation and stereotype
creates and reinforces prejudice
against non-Western cultures, putting
them in the classification of Oriental
(or "Others"). The heart of the
matter in understanding Orientalism is
this power relationship and how the
Occident has used and continues to use
and understand the Orient on its
own terms.
