Home is So Sad
Home is so sad. It stays as it was left,
Shaped to the comfort of the last to go
As if to win them back. Instead, bereft
Of anyone to please, it withers so,
Having no heart to put aside the theft
And turn again to what it started as,
A joyous shot at how things ought to be,
Long fallen wide. You can see how it was:
Look at the pictures and the cutlery.
The music in the piano stool. That vase.
Philip Larkin
.Back!
"well oli, its been really great seeing you"
duty free shoping center
10 hour dry throat
"hallo sir, sir, hallo! taxi?"
took the shuttle bus
walking thru campus
"look at that foreigner with his big backpack" "oh yes, they
all have them". they nod.
Back infront of my laptop, in a trance.
what's new?
.These are new(ly bought):
Kurt Vonnegut Jr *finished reading
it in 2 days. Like
Catch22 except better.
And with aliens.
Slaughterhouse 5
Infact, flicking back through it,
Slaughterhouse 5 is an absolutely incredible
book. The writer whitnessed the bombing of
Dresden. There's a lot about death in it.
The Mars Volta *i really want to like
them. I like the idea of
Mars Volta (salsa prog
rock) more than their music.
Frances the Mute
Mogwai *unreservedly good. buy a mogwai album.
Government Commissions (BBC sessions 1996-2003)
so there's some hope for the future.
.And Here's Some More
British music seems exciting now
The Futureheads (debut album out now!)
The Kaiser Chiefs (debut album March 7th)
Maximo Park (debut album May 16th)
Sometimes i feel like putting more mp3s
on here, but i keep finding something
more interesting to do. And all the good
songs are over 5mb and yahoo wont allow them. *shakes fist at corporation oh so menacingly*
